What's the difference between acrylic coating and polymer coating?

I'm trying to preserve some origami (like for earrings) but I don't know which to use - the acrylic coating or the polymer coating. Any help would be great, thanks!What's the difference between acrylic coating and polymer coating?

However there are other polymers, PVC etc

acrylic coating is a coating system which is resin base. polymer coatings can be applied to most metals including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper alloys, etc.. Acrylic is a polymer type of coating.
