Can I paint acrylic onto a canvas cleaned with turpentine?

I have just cleaned some oil paint off a canvas with turpentine, there is no oil left. I am wondering if it will be ok to paint acrylic onto the the canvas now that it is dry?Can I paint acrylic onto a canvas cleaned with turpentine?
I'm not positive. Most people leave the paint, sand the canvas down and gesso on a few coats. Turpentine may interfere with the acrylic base. Or cause a change in colors over time. What I recommend you do is email both the manufacturers of the turpentine and the brand of acrylic paints you plan to use to ask them about this challenge.

If no one is sure, just save that canvas for another oil painting.
