Can you fix a small crack on an acrylic Eclipse 6 gallon aquarium?

It is on the side of the Bowfront aquarium about 1 1/2'; long from the top. Is there a way to seal this? If I just put a piece of tape on the outside will that stop the crack from spreading? Can you fix a small crack on an acrylic Eclipse 6 gallon aquarium?
There is a specific ';glue'; that is used on acrylic, it's called weld-on16. It is a solvant and sort of melts the acrylic all together. You can get it here: http://www.rplastics.com/weldon16.html

I've tried using it on a cheap-o 6 gallon tank that I picked up at a yard sale and was cracked on one side from the top to the bottom. And while I made quite a mess of it and looks terrible, it holds water without leaks and makes a fabulous little quarantine/hospital tank.

you can use a silicone sealant to fix this. super glue could also work if the opening is big enough for you to squeeze in the nozzle of the superglue.
Tape won't work, I tried it. lol. This will sound crazy, people say super glue, havent tried it though. Some even say nail acrylic. I know it's crazy sounding but there is a windshield glue that starts with ';Z';, and you can buy it at any Auto zone, you just tell them you are looking for the windshield crack consealor and the name starts with Z and is 4.95 a tube and it works wonderfully and you don't see that there was ever any cracks of any size or shape and this works excellent on your windows of your house and car too, no air or water gets in either. :)
No larger than it is, I'd just use aquarium silicons. Get a sharpe object, and from the inside sort of drill a little hole at the pouint the crack ends, Same principle as Novus Windshield Repair. Run a bead of silicone down the crack and gently apply pressure to it with your finger, making sure it gets up in the hole you created good. Give her 3-4 days and you should be set!
