Right now I have a acrylic painting and I wanted the background to be in watercolor but I'm not familiar of how well these two paints mix. Anyone out there have any idea?What happens when you mix watercolor over top of acrylic paints if the acrylic is dry?
Watercolours will pool up on top of the acrylic (and over gesso too) and it will not adhere. Even if it looks like it's staying in place, it will wipe off once it's dry.
Try mixing acrylic with water %26amp; gloss medium to thin it down to watercolour consistency - then it will work.
