My new acrylic thermal blankets are leaving balls of dust everywhere, help.How do I get rid of them ?

These blankets are new and they are ';shedding'; little balls of their own material (little white balls of dust/ cotton- like). I have washed them only once. It did not seem to really alleviate the situation. How do I stop these blankets from releasing these balls of frustration ? I have bad allergies, which these only exacerbate.

Put them in the dryer on air only and let them get de fuzzed. A long time, maybe, like 40 minutes.
