Can you apply acrylic concrete stain over a polyurethane based patch?

The specific adhesive product I used is PL polyurethane masonry adhesive. Will this take a stain? Would it be better to apply a skim coat (can you put this over the adhesive?) first? Can you apply acrylic concrete stain over a polyurethane based patch?
Do you still have the container? You should get hold of the manufacturer of the patch. There could be a far fetched possibility, but to my knowledge of Polyurethane products,I would say that you are out of luck. Polyurethanes are sealers that repel moisture and dirt. They don't allow penetration of the surface.Stains need to soak into something, and the polyurethanes won't allow that. They sit on top if a surface just as paint does. The way you have written you question leads me to believe that you are assuming ';Acrylic'; means a water based product. It doesn't. That stands for the hardness of the finish, not the base of the particular product. If it is for concrete, then it probably is also a oil based product, but being a stain needs to soak into the surface. You might be able to put a thin layer of concrete over the adhesive, but I would suggest using a concrete adhesive along with it. Best thing is to call,e-mail the manufacturer of the polyurethane product. Good Luck, I know it must be frustrating. Byee
