I have the larger size utrecht brand tubes and was wondering how long before the tubes either dry out or are no longer good? I hardly ever open them, since I squeeze enough to store in another container, thanks?!How long does acrylic paint last in the tube before it is no longer good?
As long as you keep the caps screwed on tightly and no air can get into the tubes they will last a lifetime. I've got tubes of acrylic paint I never use (because I don't like the colors or the quality of the brand) that are twenty years old and the paint still hasn't dried up.
But I no longer use paints from tubes. Everything I buy and keep is kept in glass, airtight, jars. I started doing this because I was mixing a lot of my own colors and the only safe, reliable way to store these new colors is in airtight jars. Now, when I buy new paint I simply buy acrylic paint that comes in jars. How long does acrylic paint last in the tube before it is no longer good?
Depends on how you store them...tightly sealed in a cool dry place..they will last years.
