I'm a hair stylist and im in the water alot, what is better to get as a full set that would less me and not chip or crack in less then a week? Acrylics or gels and why?Is there a website that shows Acrylic and Gel nails on real people?
Acrylic only looks 'cheap' when you get cheap products used on your nails. But it is true that 'real' gels look more natural, are non-yellowing, are non-porous, and are non-toxic as well.


Just be sure you get a good gel product line applied, and expect to pay in the range of $65-$85 for a full set. LCN is a great gel line.


Stay away from the 'discount salons' as they use the cheapest products available more often than not, hence the low prices (Like the ones in WalMart).


And make sure that they apply real gel on your nails. Real gel looks exactly as the name implies - gel. It has the consistency of a hair styling gel, more or less and it is available in a wide variety of colors.


If the tech uses ANY liquid and powder on your nails, you are not getting gel nails, you are getting acrylic nails - no matter what they call them. They may even refer to the powder as being ';Powder gel.'; Sorry, no such thing. Gel nails never have liquid %26amp; powder used in their application. they look more healthy and hold up so much better! make sure you go to a place using good gel though..dont be cheap when getting them ;)
gel is better because they look more real and acrilics looks cheap. i think you should go for gel they look nice and they don't break or crack or chip easily like the acrilics
