What are the requirements to bend acrylic sheets?

Like in what temperature or any other conditions. Also want to ask how to bend the acrylic that is curved. Making for a prop like an armor and i want it to fit me but i can't just put a hot acrylic on my body .... can i?

OR

Any other suggetions to make the armor? What are the requirements to bend acrylic sheets?
why not use paper mache, it would be a hell of a lot cheaper. basically flour, water and and newspaper. paint it with acrylic paint once hardened.

go to a arts and craft store fo suppliesWhat are the requirements to bend acrylic sheets?
Acrylic will become shapable at 145 to 165'C.

Options could include:

Place the sheet on top of a suitably shaped mould (not You!)

Ensure the surface is clean or the sheet will pick up dirt.

Use a hot air paint stripper to soften the sheet.

You can also heat the sheet in an electric oven (not gas or it might catch fire). Keep a close eye on the temperature...too hot and the sheet will decompose...

Line bend the sheet.

You need a hot wire to soften the sheet along a line and then bend to a suitable angle. Machines are available to do this.

Wear suitable gloves !
