The shirt is 100% cotton, and the red and black paint stains have been on the shirt for a few days, but I put the shirt in a tub with warm waater. How do you get a acrylic paint stain out of a cotton shirt?
My husband is an artist and I have found that there is no way to get acrylics out of clothes. If you wash them immediatly when the paint gets on it you can get rid of most but there will still be a faint shadow. Since its been on there and dried for a few days your best bet is to just see if you can scrape most it off with your fingernails (that works sometimes)
But no matter what, there will always be a faint color. How do you get a acrylic paint stain out of a cotton shirt?
You will get the colors of the paint to lighten but their shadows will be permanent.
You can try bleach but it will weaken the fabric.
Maybe hydrogen peroxide or finger nail polish remover(acetone) will work on the paint.
Be creative and use a black sharpie to turn the stains in to a decorations - like lady bugs.
Wear the shirt in the shower, pour liquid soap on it and scrub away...
